Flo Fil, consisting of fly ash, cement and water, is a flowable, lightweight, controlled low-strength material that is ideal for backfill and structural fill applications. Through careful control of the mix design, proper mixing, and on-time delivery, a superior backfill material is produced. For most applications, Flo Fil is delivered as a very fluid slurry that fills every part of a void, including undercut areas that are inaccessible to other types of backfill. After placing, Flo Fil quickly solidifies providing bearing capacities of 6000 PSF and higher thereby eliminating any future settling. Because of its composition and consistency, Flo Fil requires minimal labor for installation and no equipment for compaction. There will never be a callback to repair due to improper compaction. A bonus benefit of using Flo Fil is the ease with which it can later be removed for re-entry with hand tools or commonly available excavating equipment.
One of the principle ingredients of Flo Fil is fly ash, shaped like tiny ball-berarings-the right shape for easy pumping. All mixes provided by Flo Fil Company can be pumped long distances.
In addition to our normal mix which can be easily excavated, Flo Fil Company can provide custom mixes with strengths up to 800 psi and with any consistency from very fluid to a thick paste. High strength mixes are useful when high loads or abrasive conditions are expected and thicker mixes are useful on steep slopes.
